Vernon, Florida kicked off the Girls High School Softball season on Saturday, February 16, 2019 with Nellie Mitchell, wife of the late Sam Mitchell, throwing out the first pitch.

The Chipley, Florida High School Lady Tigers Varsity Softball Team lost the opening game to the Vernon Lady Yellow Jackets, as seen in these photos by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
