Vernon, Florida Issues Formal Statement Addressing Rumors and Innuendo Concerning July 1, 2023 Fireworks Show at City Workshop

Following much public speculation, along with the usual rumors, innuendo, opinions and even ‘home movies’ on social media from self-professed ‘social media influencers’, the City of Vernon, Florida has issued a formal statement concerning the fireworks show at the Vernon SportsPlex on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

The statement (below), issued by Jesse Salveson, Vice President of Operations for Pyro Shows Corporate headquarters in Lafollette, Tennessee, apprises the media and public of the incident. 

‘We were made aware of the incident when it occurred, and it is currently under investigation by the local authorities and by Pyro Shows internal management and safety compliance.  Of course, Pyro Shows’ primary culture is safety, and we are thoroughly investigating the details of operators, product and equipment. We will be glad to respond to questions once we have accurate information’. 

At the regular monthly July Workshop of the Vernon City Council on Monday evening, July 3, 2023, the Vernon City Council discussed the issue of the delay in the execution of the fireworks show on Saturday evening with Jesse Salveson, Vice President of Operations for Pyro Shows in Lafollette, Tennessee, and unanimously expressed confidence in Pyro Shows and their personnel, and subsequently agreed to submit payment in full to Pyro Shows for this year, and to contract with the company for the 2024 July 4 fireworks show, which will be formally ratified through a council vote on the regular Monthly Meeting on July 17, 2023.
