The City of Vernon, Florida met in a relatively short Workshop session at Vernon City Hall on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 5:30PM as seen in the video clip (below).
The City Council learned of a new business, including development and construction, to take place on Main Street in Vernon at the meeting, and heard from resident and former Vernon Council member Gary Owens concerning areas of Vernon which could benefit from a cleanup.
At the meeting, Vernon City Attorney Michelle Jordan requested an increase in hourly payment from $150 per hour to $175 per hour. ‘I have requested this from all of my governments this year… from $150 an hour to $175 an hour’, said Jordan at the meeting.
All items discussed were set to be voted upon at the next regular Vernon City Council Monthly Meeting on September 20, 2021.
