The City of Vernon, Florida held a Special Meeting and Budget Workshop at City Hall on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 5:30PM as seen in the video (below).
As has been the case in the recent few months, there were some points of contention between members of the City Council and the Vernon office staff, this time revolving around an unexpected shortfall in City finances, to the tune of several tens of thousands of dollars.
Discussion ensued concerning how to make up that shortfall, and what measure to put into place that would enable the City Council members to have an accurate accounting of those City finances on a monthly basis.
