The Vernon, Florida High School JROTC program thanked the City of Vernon, Washington County School District, Vernon High School, citizens of Vernon, Vernon High School JROTC cadets and all those who made monetary donations or purchased wreaths for a veteran, as Vernon, Florida celebrated ‘Wreaths Across America’ on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
ROTC Cadets laid a total of 150 wreaths at three different locations, including Vernon Cemetery, Saint Luke AME Church Cemetery and Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, as seen in these contributed photos by Rob Holley.
1st Sgt. Tim Pickens and Major William Chomos, instructors of the Vernon, Florida High School ROTC Program were on hand along with a group of citizens to lay the wreaths, part of a national movement to honor veterans each year.
