On Tuesday, November 20, 2018, the City Council of Vernon , Florida made the decision to cancel the annual Vernon Christmas Bazaar and Parade, typically kicking off the holiday season in this northwest Florida Town.
‘We do not want to make it sound like the Grinch has had his way with Vernon’, said the Vernon City Clerk, ‘but realistically, we cannot justify the expenditure while there are still many residents here in Vernon impacted from the devastation of Hurricane Michael six weeks ago’.
The town hopes to resume this event, along with other heritage events soon, and in the meantime here are a few photos from past Vernon Christmas festivities, by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
