Vernon’s SportsPlex at 3232 Moss Hill Road in Vernon, Florida was the backdrop for some very competitive Softball, Tee Ball and Baseball this ball season, and the Recreation Department hopes to follow up on that success with Football and Cheerleading.
Vernon Football & Cheerleading signups starting on Friday, June 1, 2018 and city officials advise not to miss out on Early Registration prices.
‘There’s nothing better than seeing these young children able to enjoy the outdoors in a healthful activity such as these ball games, ‘said Washington County Commissioner Tray Hawkins, speaking recently about the Vernon sports program.
Revitalized by Recreation Director Brent Gibson, the Vernon sports programs have suffered in the past, as in any small municipalities, from lack of interest and loss of numbers of participants.
‘With the blessing and help of our Vernon City Council we have been able to put the Vernon Recreation Program back together, making citizens aware that all children are welcome to participate, and we believe that we will have a greatly improved program this year’, says Gibson.
Football Early Registration is $60, from June 1 – July 6, and Late Registration is $70.
Cheerleading Early Registration is $40, from June 1 – July 6 and Late Registration is 50.
Conditioning starts on July 6 and Vernon officials are optimistic about this year’s upcoming football season.
