Florida Panhandle Technical College in Chipley Offers Hemodialysis Technician Program Along With Hemodialysis Certification for RN’s and LPN’s

Kidney dialysis makes the difference between life and death for those who suffer from kidney failure and Hemodialysis Technicians are caring medical professionals who work directly with patients undergoing dialysis.

A career as a Hemodialysis Technician is rewarding and a well-paid job, and Florida Panhandle Technical College in downtown Chipley, Florida is now offering a 5 month Hemodialysis Program that can lead to a career either locally and nationally.

FPTC recently graduated 10 students, all successfully completing the certification exam to become Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technicians (CCHT).

Nine of the ten students have already joined the local workforce through employment with area dialysis clinics and one graduate has chosen to continue her studies in the healthcare field.

The average salary for a Hemodialysis Technician in the Florida Panhandle region is over $35,000, and LPN’s and RN’s may also complete this program to expand their skills to enable them to work as a Hemodialysis Nurses.

The RN/LPN Hemodialysis Program lasts 16 weeks and includes 255 hours of classroom theory and 255 hours of clinical experience, designed to help prepare current nurses for a career in the rewarding field of Hemodialysis Nursing.
